All Day Oatmeal


I woke up early today and it's been go-go-go ever since. I did, however, take the time this morning to make my favorite oatmeal, which always gives me enough energy to last all day. 

For each portion:
1/2 c milk
1/4 c old fashioned rolled oats
pinch salt
1 tsp maple syrup or honey, or to taste
1 egg (1 egg can also be used for a double portion)
1/4 c chopped nuts, berries, dried fruit, etc.

Bring milk to a boil, add salt, add oats, add maple syrup, stirring constantly. When the oatmeal has thickened considerably, and just before all the liquid is absorbed, crack and fold in an egg. Take off heat and stir in nuts or berries. Serve and enjoy!
